  • THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME EARL GREY: When the British Prime Minister, the 2nd Earl Grey in 1830 was treated to a delightful cup of tea which had been flavoured with oil from the ripped peel of bergamot, he was so impressed with the delicate scent of this blend that is was named after him and is since called Earl Grey. The tea is now blended in India.
